Managing director of risk specialist practice Protect A Tradie, Baheer Komak, has developed his own unique client relationship management system to better cater for his business.
Mr Komak told Risk Adviser that after finding that many of the available mainstream CRM systems are better suited to financial planning businesses than to risk advisers, he decided to develop his own system to better cater both to his own and his clients’ needs.
“I decided that I would create my own CRM and pretty much tailor it and customise it to exactly how I wanted it,” Mr Komak said.
“It is a complete nurturing process, so from the moment a customer decides to put their details into our website or call, we have an automated text message that goes out to them with the financial services guide and compliance straight away.
“We have also built in – similar to Xplan – where you can create statements of advice on it,” he said.
“Essentially you can enter the fact-find in and the SOA pretty much gets built in the background, and then administration or support staff can actually go in and fill in all the gaps."
Mr Komak added that the system is linked to Omnium and can obtain the insurance quotes and then add them to the SOA.
While the CRM system was built specifically for his business, Mr Komak said he would be interested to see whether other risk specialists might want to use it.
“I have had a few advisers look at it, and they have been quite impressed with the capabilities," he said. "I have been encouraged to roll it out to the adviser community if there is enough interest or a market for it.
“The good thing about the back end is you can design your own unique process. So, we are talking about the emails that you want to go out, messages, and pretty much all of it is customisable for everyone’s personal business, which is obviously important because different people have different compliance guidelines and things they need to do for their own personal business.”
