Macquarie head of insurance advice departs



The head of Macquarie Group’s insurance advice division has left the company, with the role now vacant.

It is understood by Risk Adviser that Macquarie head of insurance advice Patrick Dieter – who, according to his LinkedIn profile, held the role from October 2009 – has left Macquarie, vacating his position in May 2015.

During his time with Macquarie, Mr Dieter also held the roles of head of paraplanning and head of the advice delivery team.

Mr Dieter was previously national risk development manager at Hillross Financial Services, and was also an assistant commissioner at the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Macquarie Group would not comment on the reasons behind Mr Dieter’s decision to depart the company.

It is not yet known where Mr Dieter will be heading.

Risk Adviser also understands that Macquarie Private Wealth's head of research, Riccardo Briganti, has also departed the company.

Mr Briganti had spent almost 20 years at Macquarie prior to his departure. According to his LinkedIn profile, he had been a senior strategist and senior quantitative analyst before becoming a division director.
