US-based Fortune magazine has ranked MetLife as the most admired life and health insurance company.
The magazine's annual Most Admired list is compiled from a survey of more than 4,000 executives, directors and securities analysts from around 1,400 companies around the world.
Fortune then ranks the companies in each industry based on their performance across nine key areas.
The nine areas consist of innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products/services and global competitiveness.
Commenting on the result, MetLife Australia chief executive Deanne Stewart said the company was “delighted to be recognised”.
“It’s something that should give our customers and business partners confidence that we are committed to delivering high quality, globally competitive and sustainable solutions in Australia,” Ms Stewart said.
